Auspicious gathering in Saanen

During my music study, I was introduced to yoga for the first time, and I took my first lessons in yoga. This was because of Yehudi Menuhin, the world famous violin player, who was totally into yoga. And now, more than 30 years later, during a yoga retreat in Saanen, Switzerland, I ‘met’ him again. Here, in this mountain village, where Yehudi Menuhin brought his yoga teacher Iyengar to Europe, and with him, an important spreading of yoga in the West started. And the rest is history.
However, Iyengar mainly brought his interpretation of the teachings of his guru Krishnamacharya. He had studied with Krishnamacharya for a short time only when he was still a young boy, and some fundamental and essential principles of the teachings of Krishnamacharya were left out.

For me, it was special to be on this almost sacred place and to be taught in the teachings of Krishnamacharya, the ‘father’ of modern yoga, through one of his students, Mark Whitwell.
And even more important, at this Bindu of yoga and music, I had the first concert since 25 years, together with Rosalind, Yoga is back into my life, and so is music! Our next concert is already planned for Ubud, Bali later this year.
